 M - Monad

Monad: Unit. In Leibniz's philosophy: What functions as the soul of things: the part that perceives, feels, desires and possibly thinks.

The best explanation of this Leibnizian concept, which also mirrors Aristotle's notion of entelechy, is by Leibniz himself.

See: The Monadology of Leibniz with comments.
