 C - Calvin, John


John Calvin: 1509-1564: French - his name in France: Jean Cauvin - theologian and reformer; founder of the Protestant set of doctrines known as Calvinism.

Calvin was trained as a lawyer, but lost his Roman Catholic faith at 21, and then turned into a religious polemicist, controversialist, apologist and reformer.
